Ebenezer E. C. Church is nestled at the base of historic Mt. Pisgah in the heights of Jim Thorpe. The congregation first began meeting in 1855, and the current church building was built in 1896. Back then it was known in the neighborhood as the friendly church, and after 160 years that friendliness and family atmosphere has not changed. Come, visit us and experience it for yourself!
What We Believe
The Bible is the Word of God and our final authority for faith and Christian living.
The universe is the purposeful creation of a personal, loving, Almighty God.
All humanity is made in the image of the Creator and is of infinite worth.
The world is cursed by sin as a result of human rebellion against God. Suffering, death, and separation from God is the common experience of humanity. Without God's grace, this is humanity's fate for eternity.
That Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, through his virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death on the Cross, and glorious resurrection and ascension, graciously offers new life to all who receive him by faith.
The Holy Spirit, indwelling believers, gives them a desire and an ability to follow biblical standards.
The Christian faith is lived in the community of the church. We express our faith in our worship of God and our witness to others using the spiritual gifts God has given us.
Jesus Christ will return to our world, ending history as we know it, beginning the final judgment, and welcoming believers into his eternal kingdom.
